The Los Angeles city government does not work for the people.
In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, Mayor Eric Garcetti and the LA City Council have failed to adequately protect Angelenos from the impacts of COVID-19. They have failed to pass tenant rights legislation — such as rent and eviction moratoriums — or to pass legislation to support and protect our unhoused neighbors.
Mayor Garcetti proposed increasing the LAPD budget despite the fact the the LAPD is considered one of the most murderous police departments in the country. The people’s city council is a platform for different racial, economic, and environmental justice organizations to come together and fight for the city that we, the people, want.
